How often have you felt isolated, alone, and wished you had someone to talk to? Someone with whom you could hash out nagging issues, run something by, discuss options and alternatives and feel connected, supported and loved?
Imagine if you knew there would always be someone there when you needed a helping hand or a caring, compassionate ear?
Recently a client came to my office feeling defeated, deflated and all alone.
(I will refer to her as Mary.) Mary felt as though she did not have anywhere to turn, nor anyone with whom she could talk. To make matters even worse she suffered from an overbearing feeling of being crushed by the weight of the world.
I commended her for reaching out and taking the first step.
She realized she was in a bit of a jam yet she ‘listened to herself’ and trusted her intuition. She trusted that still, small voice within, who advised her that her overwhelming need to be supported outweighed her overbearing feeling of being crushed. Taking the first step always requires courage and self-love – whether we can acknowledge that in the moment matters not. What matters is listening to that still, taking the step. The first step inevitably leads you to discovery and healing.
During our session Mary noticed her anxiety was dissipating. She became more comfortable with what she was feeling and more readily able to share her feelings. Mary confided a deep secret with me. A secret that she has been carrying with her for quite some time. She wanted help. She wanted to be released from her struggle, her lies and was willing to do whatever it took. She also wanted to connect with her loved ones in spirit.
What took place during our session was beyond any dream Mary could have ever imagined.
Not only did her loved ones in spirit come through to guide and support her; but a spirit guide who described herself as Mary’s great, great, great, great maternal grandmother came through to help Mary understand why she was struggling with the secret she had been keeping and recommendations on how to best address the beginning stages of releasing this struggle and claiming her full worth. Other loved ones from Mary’s family stepped up to express their desire to support and guide Mary in taking the next few steps.
Mary, who came into our session feeling isolated, alone and wishing she had someone with whom she could share her burdens and despair, left feeling the vast love and unlimited support of her loved ones in spirit. She felt fuller, more complete and more compassionate toward herself than she had ever felt.
We all need to feel loved and supported and those in spirit are ready, willing and able to lend a helping hand. There is strength and numbers and we are stronger than we can possibly imagine!
