The Timeliness of the Turkey
I am grateful to the turkey for its courage, wisdom and strength. It is precisely the energy and wisdom we need to help us navigate through these trying times.
The turkey has always been a powerful spiritual symbol for many North American tribes.
In addition to symbolizing abundance and generosity, turkeys are seen as messengers from the spiritual world, offering guidance in various aspects of life.
Female turkeys are known for their protective nature and are considered symbols of fertility, protection, abundance and connection to Mother Earth.
My Turkey inspired poem…
Take A Stand
Take a stand – you’re all you’ve got,
more so when the temp is hot.
Feelings boiling, pressure’s on,
difficult to sing your song.
Despair and terror flashes by,
you shake your head and wonder why.
Friends not speaking, families amuck,
treading lightly, feeling stuck.
To rise above takes all your might,
and sometimes leads one to a fight.
But fight we must to save our souls.
while nourishing our long term goals.
So buck up bucko – take your stance,
and do not obey in advance.
Keep your calm and focus strong,
and merrily we’ll roll along.
Do not forget from whence you came,
your ancestors, their blood, their name.
We will be fueled by love not fear,
we will hold fast to those so dear.
As you gather around the table,
count your blessings and if you’re able,
Fill your plate with what you need,
to fortify and to succeed.
Our country’s changing but love is not,
it’s plentiful and all we’ve got.
Gratitude will tip the scales.
you’d best believe – it never fails.
Keep the faith and break the spell,
stand up, speak out, and live life well!
We’re here together, if you choose,
There’s much to gain, we cannot lose.
Love is powerful, yes indeed,
I do believe it’s what we need.
Ample helpings I wish for you,
in each and every thing you do.
I’m grateful that you’re by my side,
it’s going to be a hell of a ride.
We’ll persevere as one, with love,
in gratitude we’ll rise above.
Thankful yes, I am for you,
hopeful that we’ll see this through.
