If time is our most valuable asset, why do many of us disregard rather than capitalize on it? It is as if we are unable or unwilling to grasp the full value of this asset until we have nearly depleted it.
One thing I know for sure, from connecting, communicating and being of service to those in spirit, is that time is precious. Time is undoubtedly their most treasured asset. (Time and love.) Time is number one on their list of that which they wish they had had more of, while on the earth plane.
I know many of you feel the same way, especially after a loved one passes. The regret can overwhelm you. “If only I had said, done, offered, listened, helped. If only I had ten more minutes.”
To compound our regret we realize the older we become, the faster time flies. The opportunities begin to dwindle.
“Every year seems shorter because it’s less of a percentage of your life. A year for a 5 year old is one fifth or 20% of their life so far. A year for a 50 year old is one fiftieth of their life or 12% of it. So it seems to pass ten times faster.” (This is a theory put forth by French Philosopher Paul Janet in 1897 and is known as ‘log time’.)
If that is the theory you choose to believe, are you now wondering how you can achieve your greatest results using your remaining time? Granted, none of know how much time we have left on this earth plane. What we do know is that we have the capability and the power to make the most of the time we have in this moment.
Have you been procrastinating? Putting your life on hold? (Bearing in mind one is incapable of putting time on hold.) Have you been thinking of reaching out and connecting with a friend or family member, or taking a step forward and putting your new creative idea into action? How about completing a task or chore you began yet cannot seem to get back to?
These thoughts and reminders may be ever present. Some may even haunt you on a daily basis. Why not put them into action, imperfect as the action may be? I am confident you know the feeling of joy and pride when you kick off a new project or complete a previously started one.
That feeling may serve as a positive catalyst and you have an extra day this Leap year to do with what you please! What will you do with it?
I assure you – your loved ones in spirit will be ‘over the moon’ to hear you have executed your plans and will want to enjoy the moment with you.
Life can be long, or short.
Time is our most valuable asset.
You may want to take full advantage of that asset.
