Sweetness and light, peacekeeper and heart of our home – Charlotte Mae GilpinFord.
You stole our hearts the moment we looked into your big brown eyes, twelve and a half years ago, an abused rescue mutt from Tennessee, without a care in the world. You had so much love to give.
“Cat magnet”, “chicken love bug”, and the “great protectress”, you saw to it that we all felt safe and cared for, without even realizing that is what you were doing. Though you never believed you could actually swim, you loved water, whether it was playing in the ponds and lakes or standing and drinking hose spray in the backyard. You thoroughly enjoyed eating our hand made snow cakes, lying around by the fire and keeping each and every creature in our family good company.
Never could you go outside without first snatching a ball or toy from your basket and playing ‘fetch’ after (and sometimes before) your ‘business’ was done. Your exuded happy-go-lucky puppy energy throughout your entire life.
Your unexpected and rather sudden departure, on your own terms, has left us all grief stricken, especially your cat pal, Shadow, who is desperately lost without you to… shadow.
Now you and your side-kick of 12 years, Webster, have been reunited and we feel the embrace of your spirits.
Our hearts are heavy and full of love. You, Charlotte, will remain a part of our lives throughout eternity.
Until we meet again, our sweet, sweet Charlotte.
