How often have you walked away from a conversation, left a meeting, or a get-together and thought: damn, why didn’t I ask that question?
Then you went on your merry way racking your brain, repeating the question over and over, arriving with a slew of possible answers, not knowing which might be correct?
Add that question to your list of unanswered questions or questions to be asked at a later date.
Now there is;
Something else to think about.
Something else to do at a later date.
Something else you do not know.
Drat!
Isn’t there enough to do already?
Isn’t your ‘to-do’ list long enough?
And isn’t it great to learn something new every day?
You can clear the list.
Cross off another chore, event, task.
And learn something new each and every day… if you simply Question Everything.
How about that meeting you were at when you didn’t understand a point the presenter had made but you didn’t want to raise your hand because you didn’t want to appear ‘stupid’ for not understanding, or appear silly, because ’someone might have thought you were not paying attention’, or afraid to appear unfocused, because no one else has raised their hand, so they must be following along and absorbing the information?
You wound up leaving the meeting feeling like you were in the dark. Incomplete. Confused.
Or how about the conversation you were having with your best friend, who mustered up all her courage and confided in you, sharing her deepest, darkest secret. There was something you really wanted to ask but did not want to appear to be prying, so you didn’t ask. That question could have turned your friend’s situation around and provided solace and clarity.
Don’t assume.
Question Everything.
Every time we ask a question, we encourage others to do the same.
Asking questions is an act of paying attention, of caring, of wanting and needing to fully understand what the other person is sharing. Asking questions truly reflects good listening skills and establishes connection.
Give it a try.
If you approach your question asking with love and a genuine need to know – you will find those questions open doors and lead you to your deeper, divine self.
A Poem Entitled ‘What is This?’ by Yours Truly
Question now and question often,
Share your answers to and fro.
Let them know you love and do care,
Begin right now and take it slow.
Questions open doors and pathways,
They lead us to our deeper self.
Ask your questions, ask of all,
Light your light and share you wealth.
