Web of Connection

Web of Connection

It’s all about connection.

Making connections.

Fostering and nurturing connections.

As a spider weaves her web she connects one strand to another. In the weaving and connection, the web becomes stronger.

Connection creates strength.

It’s the same with people.

People’s paths cross every day.

They intersect.

They connect.

We don’t always make that connection but yet, we have connected.

Connection and camaraderie are essential, and yet, as the world spins faster, as ‘things’ become more readily available, connections fade.

We don’t have the ‘time’. Time, that non-renewable, resource.

So we begin to squander our time, and in doing so, we contract – became smaller – sort of ‘Scrooge-like’ bent over counting his money, or in this case, counting our minutes, our precious, precious minutes.  The more we count the less we have and we find we are left feeling contracted and isolated.

Disconnected.

Connection is in the air.

The need to reach out and become a part of something bigger than ourselves is spreading – it’s ‘going viral’ – sort of speaking.

We, as humans, love a shared experience.

It gets our blood pumping, our heart beating – doesn’t it?

A shared experience fosters a sense of community and yes, connection.

‘We’ are far more powerful when we connect. We are the best version of ourselves when we reach out and touch somebody’s hand…♪

Connection – the key to compassion, Compassion – the key to a better world. Let’s get started creating a better world, you and I.

These Three Steps may help:

1.  Pick up the telephone, yes, the telephone, and call your friend, your mother, that person who has been on your mind – the one you just can’t seem to ‘find the time’ for – make that connection.

2.  Make the time to walk outside – in nature. If you have a dog, take your dog.  And take your time.  Much like your dog, who loves to explore with his or her nose to the ground, eyes wide open, and ears perked, walk with your ‘nose to the ground’ and eyes wide open, ears perked.  Take in the smallest of wonders, the tiny fir tree reaching for the heavens, the scent of pine needles as they crunch underfoot, the call of the geese as they fly overhead in perfect formation.

3. Get together with friends, or relatives.  Carve out time.  Grab a bite to eat or prepare a simple, healthy meal together.  Play a board game.  Talk, laugh, love. These are three very simple steps.
